NoteGen is an add-in application for Autodesk Inventor designed by D|C|CADD to simplify the process of adding notes to any Inventor IDW drawing.  Instead of using the Inventor “Text “ function, NoteGen allows you to store all your standard notes in a Microsoft Excel file, use the NoteGen interface to quickly select those notes, and easily insert them. NoteGen can also enter Data Tag Values and format the text as needed. It even prompts for typing in variables!

Autodesk Inventor users are already aware of the involved process of placing notes on documentation - all notes must be created manually using the “Text” tool.  Then, to maintain consistency, an Inventor Template file must be saved that contains every possible Note scenario. Unnecessary notes then have to be deleted and the remaining notes have to be rearranged to clean up the drawing. This is wasted time and effort.
